Post Body

I like Lamb just fine. Saying that up front. It’s probably my #6 Genesis album without thinking about it too hard, which places it well above a great many other things.

I find that there are a lot of people who call Lamb their favorite Genesis album, but I do not find there’s a lot of people who call it their second best, or even third or fourth. Either people super love Lamb or it’s mid-tier. Doesn’t seem to be much middle ground.

What am I not hearing? I feel like it’s an unfocused mess compared to SEbtP or Foxtrot, and it doesn’t have the cohesion of other rock opera style works like Tommy Or Quadrophenia or even Bat Out of Hell. Maybe about as cohesive as the Wall, though.

Looking to learn what others love about it to maybe hear it differently the next time I go to it.
