I don’t like the people who make being Muslim (or what is “Islamic”) their whole entire identity it looks so fake

Now I don’t mean people who are Muslim and try to be the best Muslim they can be. But I mean the people who make it a central tenant to be professing every two seconds that they are a Muslim show the world they are Muslim and everything about their external person is just the makeup or the mask of a Muslim and you never really know who they are. For example , the people who adopt the stereotypical look of a devout Muslim and go even further by everything they say or respond having always be a profession that they are Muslim. Their opinions and them as an individual gets masked behind the fortress of what they view as being Islamic and everything they say for every answer is always Alhumdulilah and you see brother a Hadith in Bukhari is saying this and that (bro i just asked why you are studying medicine) and wallahi brother this dunya is a prison for the believers blah blah blah.

I usually come across these types of weird people in Muslim events. With these types I never get to know or engage them on a personal level. Everything just feels so fake and superficial. When you look at their social media even , they’re the ones who usually have posts almost exclusively a Quran verse a Hadith going on ummrah if they get married they’re the ones to write they have completed half their deen (why not just say you found someone to finally be in a relationship with and you are happy to spend your life with them?). If they play a sport it’s because a Hadith says that this is recommended etc. I hope you get the idea what I mean.

Then there’s the adjacent people who love saying and proclaiming something as part of their Islam to boost their ego. The ones who when they see something in modern science that affirms what the Quran said, are the ones to take it and be like and see this is why Islam the true religion , CAUSE MY RELIGION SAID THIS AND SEE SCIENCE SAYS THAT TOO ,

Or my favourite, when a celebrity , often a white looking one, does anything saying the simplest non-Islamophobic thing about , it could even be a tiny little praise about Islam, these are the ones to lose their whole minds and start getting an immense ego boost and reposting and resharing like wild fire (like what happened with Muslims and Andrew Tate or Jordan Peterson and Piers Morgan last year).

I can’t help but find that these people just all seem fake to me. I never get to know them on a real level at all. They all just seem way to superficial for my liking as if they’re not real and they’re hiding their personality behind the front or the cover of the stereotype of piety.
