Hi!
I wonder if progressive Islamic beliefs could be connected with neurodivergence? For example, neurodivergent people tend to think more ‘outside-of-the-box’, so they would have more unconventional beliefs with Islam.
In my (25M) case growing up, I’ve always felt weird and out of place in society. Even when the days I had more conservative beliefs, I still did things quite weirdly, like the way I’d perform salah.
I also think it’s hard to express my progressive beliefs to neurotypicals because of the framework they’ve operated in, whereas I’m more ‘creative’.
I would love to know everyone’s thoughts! :)
