I have adored the music of Green Carnation since they released Journey to the End of the Night more than 20 years ago now. I love the way they reinvent themselves at least a little bit with each release, and there was never one album that disappointed me, although if I HAD to pick favourites I would go with Journey to the End of the Night, A Blessing in Disguise and The Quiet Offspring. Over the years I have been looking for bands that are similar, but have found none that compare, at least in the way the music gets down deep to the core of me. The closest of I have found has been In the Woods..., but even though I do really like them, the music doesn't hit me in quite the same way. I have also listened to all of Kjetil Nordhaus' other bands because his voice is just so amazing, but even though I do really like the majority, none of them are even close to Green Carnation. So I am hoping that someone might be able to offer me some recommendations that I have not explored already.
