Hello everyone. I work as a Sourcing Manager for direct/raw materials.
I have put in place several sourcing strategies, however, I’m having a hard time enforcing them. Specifically, I am having issues with Buyers on our Procurement team not placing orders in line with our strategies and contracts. This has been an ongoing issue and it’s starting to diminish our savings potential.
My company is fairly immature in Procurement and this is the first time we’ve had documented strategies in place. Aside from sharing the strategies with the Buyers and Requisitioners, what more can be done to ensure the strategies are being followed? And what is the responsibility of the Sourcing (me) and Purchasing (Buyers) functions to ensure they are adhered to?
