Back in around 2007-ish I came across a website hosting a bunch of different techniques for generating terrain, caves, rivers, forests, and a bunch of other topics. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it anymore. I remember the site consisting of a bunch of static pages with a light greenish color scheme organized by type of content and algorithm, but its been over a decade so I don't recall too much more than that.
I think it may have been hosted on geocities, but again I'm not totally sure. It had a lot of cool techniques some of which I haven't seen elsewhere, so it would be really unfortunate if it was lost. Does anyone else remember this site? I really want to find it again now that I know how to program.
Edit: I found it! It looks like a version of it was preserved on oocities: http://www.oocities.org/area51/6902/
Edit2: I think part of what I remember being contained on the site was actually located here: http://vterrain.org/
