I love him nonetheless and just want to know what I can do to help him. The worst of his habit was a year ago and now he is working towards paying off his debts. He has removed all apps but I am only realising how often reformed gamblers must be triggered. No matter how often he removes himself from apps like Ladbrokes they still send him those messages inviting him to gamble or place a bet in order to earn more gambling dollars (sorry idk the linguo). He loves watching sport and it hurts my heart knowing that it is a major trigger for him.
Would appreciate anything that’s helped others and their partners assist in their habit. I’m prepared for a relapse, but due to how severe his habit is he cannot get loans and his debt (and allegedly our relationship) is preventing him from gambling. Do I need to keep an eye out for things like him borrowing money? I’ve suggested group councelling but don’t want to nag him. Any help would be appreciated
