Why are court appointed lawyers so bad? I browse this sub cause criminal justice is interesting to me, and I see a common theme that court appointed lawyers regularly screw over their clients

For the love of god don’t ever use a court appointed lawyer for anything over a parking ticket. The longer they’ve been a court appointed the less they’ll give af about your case. They don’t make hourly for representing you just something like 500$ per person when you sign. The younger the court appointed lawyer is, the better. It sounds stupid but it’s true.
