So guys, I’ve just recently completed my first purchase on the new and completely private by default marketplace called Particl. Everything went super smooth and also the escrow procedure (there’s no third party governing anything, or collecting anything - just you and the seller) was a piece of cake. Bought “the bitcoin standard” book from a seller in Europe. Ive first learned about particl from r/onions after getting scammed there. Im sick of amazon and am just trying to find alternatives.
For those of you who dont know, Just to introduce briefly what Particl is in the first place, a few features :
- Code based on Bitcoin blockchain
- Privacy focused, working with 3 levels of privacy backed by some advanced features like RingCT https://imgur.com/do3FB6W
- Fully Proof of Stake, with the possibility to do "Cold Staking" which allows you to stake your coins without the need of a client opened all day
Many others things for you to discover, you can consult the wiki about it : https://particl.wiki/what-is-particl
But most importantly, the subject of this topic is the marketplace dApps, think about it as an Ebay platform, but decentralized, fully anonymous, all of it with almost non existent fees as you can see here : https://imgur.com/ddJc1vv
They are crypto agnostic, meaning that you’ll be able to pay with ANY of your cryptocurrencies there, ending the tribalism in the space. The base transaction will always be settled in PART however, to create demand on the one hand and being protected by RingCT on the other.
You can find a few demos on youtube like this one to see how it looks like : https://youtu.be/HXRFYcg45Aw
Or you can also test it yourself going threw this process, it's enough user friendly for anyone to test : https://particl.news/tutorial-how-to-use-the-private-and-trustless-particl-marketplace-11839ea30e09
Maybe we've got our new privacy killer app here. I have to admit, there’s not a lot going on at the moment, and the entry barrier is high, but with some luck they’ll get adoption.
