Proton Drive is now live! This project was born out of an urgent need to protect the privacy of files and photos stored online. Although these files contain some of our most confidential data, there are presently very few options that help keep them safe while also allowing ease of access.

After Proton Drive was launched in beta, we had close to half a million people who participated in the program and shared their feedback. This allowed us to create a cloud storage service that is truly secure and easy to use. We wanted Proton Drive to be a Swiss vault for your digital life and that is why we went the extra mile to ensure our encryption surpasses alternatives available today.

Proton Drive uses end-to-end encryption and all files are signed with cryptographic signatures so users can verify the authenticity of files. In addition to the files themselves, Proton Drive also encrypts associated metadata such as file names, file extensions, and more. Like Proton Mail, Proton Drive also uses open source encryption which can be publicly validated.
