In 2007 the FJ Cruiser was released and as a journalist I was invited to the intro event. While there an upper level Toyota executive was a bit in his cups. He said that he knew that the engineers had programmed an Easter egg into the 2nd gen Prius. That if the shift lever is moved in a specific sequence, it “unlocks” the ECU and allows more horsepower. I never forgot it and always wondered about the validity. I’ve never owned a Prius. Has anyone ever done this?
Maintenance mode? Not recommended to drive in that. Removes a large chunk of failsafes.
