Salvage title question...
Post Body

Found this 2005 Prius on FB Marketplace with 172,000 miles on it, for just $3,800. Everything looks great in the description, until I see, "Salvage Title Due To Stolen catalytic converter."

I normally only look at listings that show they've got a clean title, BUT... I'm assuming they obviously must have had to replace the catalytic converter that was stolen (for it to run, lol). So once they did that, why wouldn't it have a clean title now?

(I haven't posted on Reddit in years, so if the pic isn't showing, or I messed up, lol - just let me know!)

Doesn’t need to run and drive to sell it, once it has a branded title it will always be a branded title. Never goes back to clean. Branded titles are OK, as long as you don’t plan to ever fully insure them, and basically write the vehicle off. I wouldn’t ever buy a new branded title vehicle.
