Tips for ink transfer with drypoint on plexiglass?

Post Body

Hello, in my printmaking class we just finished our intaglio unit. I love how the base plate turned out, but when I went to actually print the work, the ink transfer was limited. I did about four attempts, these two were the best.

My process was soaking Strathmore printmaking paper for about 4 minutes, then rolling it until it wasn't soaking wet between papers. Used gamblin relief ink and wiped away with cheesecloth, then placed the base plate then paper on top and rolled through a press.

Should I be soaking the paper for longer? My instructor said no longer than 5 min but also said she hadn't done this method before. Or is it the ink I'm using/way im applying? Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks!
