"The Faithless King" screenprint on Bristol 15x19 5 layers (4 colors and key)
Loosely following Alphonso Dunn's pen and ink guides and utilizing references. The prompt was "current issues." I went for a metaphor for certain people that hold power and use deceit and violence to hold that power structure in place, whether it be for warmongering, profits or to an end of itself.
I would have like to add more contast to snake and make it more gold. Maybe I'll add yellow highlights with gel pen. And fix some of the lighting with the jewels and make the mandible a bit bigger. Add more of a cream color for skull. But it was super fun to make, I made about 10 copies and 10 more with just the key. I think I found my favorite medium to pair with my cross hatching journey.
