Shopify integration

So the way that things are currently set up with me, when customers purchase things I have listed on shopify, I am debited for the amount and then paid days later. I always figured it was supposed to be the other way around. Is there any way I can fix this? I’ve been lucky to always have money in my account but just in case, I don’t want to be caught off guard.
