Post Body

Hi! Im an incoming med student in need of a printer. Im torn between laser or ink printers (which uses ink tanks, specifically the HP Wireless 415/Epson L3110). Ive read that laser printers are more durable and Ive found some great options, however, Im quite concerned about the cost of the toner cartridges. Not sure if laser printers would still be the better option since ink bottles for ink tanks are very cheap (legit bottles are being sold for around $5-7 here and can print ~5000 pages). I also read somewhere cartridges can be hard to set up (??) and the cleaning might be costly. Dont really know much about printers even after much research and to be honest, Im quite overwhelmed, please help me out

Minimum Requirements:

Budget: ~$170 (but hopefully cheaper)

Country: Philippines

Color or black and white: will be printing mostly BW. Color would be nice but if it gets too expensive, I can do without it

Laser or ink printer: Whatever would be more durable and cheaper in the long run (laser vs ink tank)

New or used: new

Multi-function: hopefully has a scanner but not vital

Duplex Printing: nope

Home or business: home

Printing content: readings and documents for school

Printing frequency: several times a week

Pages per minute : doesnt matter, im not on a rush

Page size: A4, legal, and letter

Device printing from: Macbook Air, OS X Yosemite

Connection type: usb is ok, wireless would also be nice but not required
