I've recently bought an Epson WF-3640 second-hand for 40 bucks. I'm hoping that I got a decent deal considering that it's a 10 year old printer. I bought new epson ink seeing that it had old ink carts still in it at the time of purchase. I did a test print but nothing was printed. I went down a printer rabbit hole looking up solutions to make this thing print. I performed a manual cleaning of the nozzles using a syringe tubing and home-made ethanol solution (1:2). I ran a test print and it started printing faint lines on paper!
All that being said, why is printer ink so expensive? And did I get screwed paying 40 bucks for this machine? I can't tell if I truly find printers interesting or if I'm too stubborn to buy a new model printer.
