So a few months back I bought on marketplace a laserjet 5550n . I bought it for 20 bucks and fully expected this printer was gonna need some work and it does, but I'm fine with it because its an A3 color laser printer and those are pretty hard to come by for less than a grand. I resolved a lot of the print quality issues when I finally figured out the magenta toner cartridge was puking out waste toner all over the place. I am almost positive the belt needs to be changed and I've already taken the belt off the assembly before when I deep cleaned this printer and I found just the belt can be had for 75 bucks vs 200 for the whole assembly. Would there be any benefit besides convienece of buying the 200 dollar unit vs just changing the belt, like any rollers on there that also go bad? Is there any other parts of that assembly or printer I should change? Also wondering since I'm getting new magenta and yellow(was a new cartridge but something in it is causing a horrendous grinding noise so replacing it too because I don't want to hurt the printer) should I just invest in the other 2 toners so I can have new toners with the new belt? Also is there any other parts I should replace on this printer to get better print quality? I'm like 75% sure the fuser is good because the toner is sticking to the paper fine and it does get hot.
