Impressions of HG Wells' The War of the Worlds?
Post Body
This is definitely a SF classic, but it's been out of my conscious thought until recently when I stumbled onto this stunning set of illustrations from the 1906 French edition. Maybe its because I read it when I was younger, but I had much lighter memories of the book than those French illustrations imply. That said, they do seem more accurate given the content of the book and have etched the memory of it a bit deeper for me.
I'm curious - have you read The War of the Worlds? What do you think of it?
