what separates us from animals?
Post Body

it seems to me that humans have the same nature as lions, wolves etc. And since we have the same nature' what separates us from animals?

Comments

A desire to restrain ourselves for the sake of people and beings unlike us.

The much-vaunted natural balance is a lot less harmonious than often depicted. Deer will eat the young trees in a forest until it's a steppe rapidly turning into a desert unless they're killed by wolves. Wolves will over-hunt a forest until they starve. Etc.

It's only humans that can willingly exercise restraint for the sake of the future.
