As the title states, I have no health insurance and no income. But I still managed to not only get a PID diagnosis, but also start infusions.
My Immunologist, who I see thanks to donations, sent my information in to OnePath, who then forwarded it to the Rare Disease Charitable Foundation. And after a months-long process, I made it into their program.
A nurse came out to train me today, and the process went well. No allergic reaction, no Epi-Pen emergency, no blood clot, nothing. It felt a little weird having the needle in, and I got slightly nauseous after the fact. But it's so worth it. I'm so ready for all the stupid infections and Illnesses to just S T O P. If I can avoid just ONE more incident of PCP, It will be worth it.
This is a pretty big deal when I couldn't even get a diagnosis (or a good doctor) not that long ago.
Anyway just wanted to share my good news.
(For those wondering, I got GammaGard Liquid).
