We live on a freshwater TVA lake in the lower Blue Ridge Mountains and we want to find the best method to filter lake water into potable drinking water.
We are seeking your recommendations on which filter system we should buy that will quickly filter lake water into clean and safe drinking water - with no power.
Our ideal scenario: we hand pump water up out of the lake to our lakefront property and there we pour it into a filtration product that gives us safe clean drinking water.
Lots of confusing product choices out there - Lifestraw Max - Lifestraw Community - Alexapure - Berkey and more!!!
But which is best and why? I am less concerned about price than other factors given the importance of drinking water.
This has been very challenging for us given it is the single most important prep we must make.
Boiling would be the last possible method we’d use, but we see boiling as a secondary backup and a filtration system as primary.
Thank you in advance!!!
