For a while now I've noticed that transparency (at least with PNGs) does not render as it appears in the client, which can be frustrating when rendering takes hours at a time. Today I rendered a PNG overlaying some video at 87.5% opacity. In-client this is a very slight transparency across the entire image, but after rendering the video, it's apparent that the darker areas of the image became more transparent while the lighter areas became less transparent, resulting in a very different sequence of video than what I intended. This seems like a Blend Mode problem, but the truth is I have Blend Mode set to "Normal" and this is still happening. This isn't what happens when I use Blend Mode: Normal in Photoshop, only in Adobe Premiere Pro. What's happening and how can I avoid it?
