Firstly, I am a dual citizen of Canada and an EU nation. This will significantly help with my cost of schooling in the EU should I go. Canada is incredibly competitive, and I would also like a chance to explore the world more, so I wanted to use my dual citizenship to my advantage and go to med school in the EU.
I plan on practicing in Canada in the end, I am open to doing my residency in the EU and even practicing for awhile there should I not match for Canadian residency.
But Iāve heard horror stories of internationally trained doctors not being able to practice in Canada because their qualifications arenāt valid in Canada, even with the licensing exams and everything.
Is that a concern I should have if I go to my home country or anywhere in the EU? What steps do I have to take to be able to practice in Canada?
