Do adcoms likely look down on applicants who move to a province for IP status?

Post Body

Hi everyone,

Thanks in advance for your thoughts; because of personal circumstances, the way my undergrad GPA shapes up only allows me to apply competitively to Queen's & Dalhousie. I have a 3.8 for my final two years, and I'm seeing that the average GPA for Dal matriculants last year was this exact value. I just got my MCAT score back a few minutes ago, and while I was beating my goal of a 515 on AAMC FLs, it seems I choked on CARS (126) and ultimately got a 513.

This likely vetos any chance of an interview at Queen's, and so I'm considering moving to Nova Scotia as you gain IP status for Dal after working there for >12 months. While I do have non med school-related reasons for wanting to go to the province, these aren't anything profound and the primary motivator is having a better shot at acceptance. I'm wondering if anyone's done this in the past or knows someone who has, and if so, do you feel adcoms look down upon this? Is it likely to be a point of discussion in the interview?

Thanks a bunch, cheers!
