Secondary Essays "Difficult Moment/Adversity" Topics
Post Body

Hey everyone so I had a question about essay topics for my "adversity essay" and "difficult moment" essays and was hoping to get some thoughts on if I should use them or not.

  1. "Difficult Moment" - One day I was studying and saw a student actually commit suicide in the student center. He jumped off of the 4th story and I was the first one to rush over and kneel by his side. He didn't make it. It was pretty brutal but it reaffirmed my decision to become a physician because I wanted to help in the moment but couldn't. - Could I still use this prompt here or elsewhere? I feel like it's a very powerful story and a big part of my journey.
  2. "Adversity" - I withdrew from my first university because I couldn't hang and my grades sucked. I had a 1.7 GPA when I left that semester and turned around my GPA at a new university to ultimately get Summa Cum Laude. I kind of allude to this in my PS. But I also lost about 80 pounds during my "reinvention". So maybe I could focus on my fitness journey?

What do you guys think about these stories? Can I use them?
