Student wanting to interview a physician-scientist (MD-PhD) candidate/student/degree-holder for school project?
Post Body

Hi!

For one of the classes that I'm taking this semester, I have a career project. One component that I need to complete is an interview for someone in the profession that I'm interested in. Admittedly, I was thinking I could go the easy route and maybe do something with a professor, because that's also not unrealistic for me (chemistry professor, that is, they're all kinda like my only friends). I didn't really want to do that though because being a chem prof would just be a job that I can do, not necessarily the dream. I didn't think it'd be as beneficial, but at the same time, I was thinking that I would never be able to find someone I could interview.

Alas, that's why I'm here! I lurk very infrequently and see bubbles that say MD/PhD and whatnot, so I was hoping maybe someone here would be willing to let me interview them! Even if you don't want to be interviewed by me (because my prof wants it to be on the phone/voice call or a video call, but doesn't need to be recorded), I would still love to get to speak with you and ask my own questions as this is my ultimate goal.

Side note: I wish I could just post the questions here and whoever is interested can respond, but my professor said that she will "randomly contact" the interviewees to find out if the interview happened and all. I wouldn't mind asking questions via email, but she doesn't want it that way--she said that it must be over the phone or video/voice call. Before the pandemic, the requirement was for it to be in-person and that we needed to shadow that individual.

P.S. I do have areas/disciplines that Iā€™m most interested in, but Iā€™d like to learn from anyone, hence why I said MD/PhD students are welcome too. :)

P.S. P.S. I don't think this was the right flair to use, but I'm pretty sure "interviews" was definitely not the right one. Sorry if it's wrong; mods, if any exist on Reddit, please fix anything I have wrong. Thankies!

Thanks for anyone who can be of assistance! :)
