Hi everyone!
I have been contemplating med school for the past 2 years. I studied nutrition in undergrad but didn’t want to pursue my RD because I knew that path wasn’t really for me. I’ve always been interested in endocrine disorders and would like to study that, and it just so happens that nutrition is very related to that field.
Anyway, I was involved in pre-med groups in my understand and started an organization on campus, and had other extracurriculars that fostered my interest.
I think my biggest barrier has been 1. My parents not being super supportive and 2. The cost 3. Where to even START in terms of getting clinical/research experience, etc.
I moved to a new city to pursue the startup world, and I just decided I never could fit into that mold and miss being in a healthcare environment,
I would really love to hear from some non traditional students and how they went from career A to a career in Medicine. Thank you!
