I am currently a rising sophomore at a very prestigious and rigorous school and have been worried about my GPA especially after finishing my first year. Do people applying to med really have close to A 4.0? My credit system only allows 4 classes to be taken and I am in all stem classes right now and I my grades have varied between As and B 's with 1 B- (above average for the chem course, average was a C). and I am extremely worried it is going to take a toll on my gpa. I am trying to be optimistic and for my freshman year I think best case scenario I finish with a 3.5-3.6 overall which is extremely discouraging coming out of high school with nothing lower than a 93. I know I have 4 more semesters to raise my gpa before applying to med but I am afraid I won't be able to get a 4.0 each semester and this pattern of a GPA will continue each year. What is the suggested course of action I take from here if I am consistently above average in my courses but it just is not enough for the 4.0? I know GPA is not everything but I am serious concerned about my grades.
