To start, I'm very very early in the process. Like haven't taken the MCAT early. However, after lurking for awhile I have seen a few things that seem to matter..... Here's what I have so far, and wondering what to start working on before next year.
I have an MSN. I believe my GPA was 3.7. I have no research hours. I have around 25,000 clinical hours in direct patient care. (EMT, RN, NP) I have LORs from my attendings and directors (large teaching hospital) I have not taken the MCAT. I intend to score at least 510.
I love internal medicine. I have 3 years in IM as an NP, and my goal is to stay IM and be a nocturnist.
Apart from studying and working towards my MCAT goal, is there anything I need to work on? Do I have enough to offset the no research hours?
