Okay so first off I had a REALLY good pregnancy so I was like okay labor is gonna kick my a**. Expecting the absolute worst
I canât really give times beyond the time I arrived at the hospital because I was not paying attention tbh but I want to say I felt a little trickle around 11 pm on Saturday night right after I used the bathroom . I wasnât sure if It was my water or not so I looked it up and was recommended to wait an half hour or so to see if it continues. I then went to bed. 4 am, a little soaked and different smell from what Iâm used to so I just changed and went to bed and at 7 am same thing so I finally called my ob and she told me to head to the hospital so they can confirm or rule out my water.
Made it to the hospital at 9 am and they did the test, turns out it was my water. I didnât have anything with me because Saturday is when I just started to pack for my apartment and get my bag ready. PLEASE BE PREPARED GUYS đ. I was only 4 cm so they had to give me some medicine to make me dilate faster. They kept saying I was having big contractions but I swear I didnât feel anything except her occasional kick.
I was about 6 cm when they brought me to the actual delivery room (previously in obed) so I bounced on the ball and then used the peanut ball for a while, they strengthened the medicine and I finally felt the contractions, I had thankful practiced breathing techniques the last few weeks so that helped although the contractions themselves were pretty bearable for me, I was lightly sleeping for a good bit of them.
They began to think that the band measuring the contractions were not true so they inserted something inside me, forgot the name but it definitely became intense and I was 8 cm when I lost my breathing pattern, thinking it was gonna be a long time before I reached 10 I asked for the epidural. I really wished I didnât because by the time I got the epidural it was time to start pushing đ
So with the epidural I didnât feel a thing of course so they kept saying I was moving her down but it just felt like I was static. It was more than one push for me but they could see her head wiggling and then a few more push she came out.
I dont know whatâs up with my energy levels because right after I think I relaxed for a bout the duration of them cleaning her off and getting her measurements and stuff and then all of a sudden I had a bunch of energy wanting to walk around and all that stuff lol.
They had to stabilize me for some reason I forgot so it was about an hour until I was actually able to hold her but overall great experience, I definitely want to do it again some day. She was born at 37 weeks and 6 days, weighed 6.9 and was 19 inches long. 6:03 pm Sunday.
Imo the stuff the team were doing hurt more than what my body was doing. Cervical checks were very uncomfortable and ugh the pushing on my stomach sucked. I still havenât processed this fully. I wake up and look over like whoâs baby is this đ
Funny thing is I had plans to get my toes done MondayâŚshe had to be eavesdropping.
But yeah the nurse said I didnât make a sound the entire time and kept saying âidkâ to every question đ
