My wife and I finally got the good news: that IVF worked and I am pregnant! We are thrilled beyond belief and had our first ultrasound to see the little lentil and heartbeat. All very magical.

This morning sickness, though, is anything but magical. I'm nauseous constantly throughout the day, no matter how careful with eating I am. Ginger beer, ginger chews, snacking on bland crackers, staying hydrated, eating protein, none of it helps. This is the second day in a row where I've had to run to the bathroom and lose all the food I had consumed so far. I hate it. My wife asked me if I am regretting this, and I'm obviously not but this just sucks. And the sudden need to upchuck seems so random! Yesterday I woke up from a nice nap and my body just decided it was time to throw up. And today I was enjoying my morning relaxing in our office with her, when suddenly it hit and I had about 30sec to run to the bathroom in time.

My doc at the fertility clinic said to let her know if the nausea is too bad and she can prescribe a medicine for it. I just want to know I'm not being a wuss about it. My biggest worry is getting the needed vitamins and food for a continued healthy pregnancy. I am vegetarian, so getting protein is hard enough without upchucking what little I do consume.
