Several people on this sub have suggested I might have type 1 diabetes because I’ve been diagnosed with prediabetes at such a low weight for my age as a male. Should I freak out?
Post Body

25 year old male who weighs around 132 pounds and height is 5’8”. 5 weeks ago the doctor told me I had an A1C of 5.8 and then I went back a month later after fixing my diet (less carbs and no sugar) to test again and it went down to 5.7.

I used to dirty bulk which meant I would eat half a box a pasta a day for years as well as burgers or pizza. I thought I was immune to carbs being Italian and gay. Guess not?

I had someone tell me that with my weight I might be type 1 and even though my A1C isn’t super high I’ve been wondering the same thing. Wouldn’t my doctor have said something?

Only person in my family who ever had diabetes was my grandfather on my dad’s side (type 2) and both my parents have been told they had prediabetes so this makes sense for myself having prediabetes. I’m just smarter and younger than them to take care of myself.

What about MODY?

Should I talk to my doctor or have I been on this sub too much?
