So me and my wife just recently found out that we are expecting. Right now she is in her 9th week(roughly) and we have yet to go see a doctor. She just decided on a doctor last week but upon calling their offices today I found that they won't have an available appointment for a month. My first reaction was to find another doctor, but she is stuck on the one because he is known for performing VBAC and not backing out on it. I understand that completely and I myself really want this doctor as well, so I suggested that we go to planned parenthood or the health department just for the initial appointment seeing as we are so far behind as it is and I want to be sure that we are kept abreast of all possible complications and what we can do now to make things go smoothly for her and our child. My primary focus is her and our child's health. Well, she has a daughter and adamantly claims that it is not that big of a deal to go without a doctor's visit going into the second trimester to the point that it has lead to quite heated arguments. I mostly just need some reassurance that all is well with her and the baby and for someone to put some fire under her ass to be active and ex reside during pregnancy. I recently just gave up, but I need some reassurance that we can forego the doctors visits for this long.
