It's very likely a generational thing, and much of MMPR's modern fame is just 90's nostalgia, but am I the only one kinda sad that the general public only knows about that season (well three seasons but you get the idea) and not many of the later seasons that had deeper themes or snappier writing?
I grew up with Samurai, so I can't claim myself totally impartial and I can't deny the impact of nostalgia, but MMPR frustrates me in a similar this-isn't-even-close-to-the-best-of-its-kind-you-just-grew-up-with-it way that I feel towards the first generation of Pokemon.
It's not that I dislike Mighty Morphin, it has quality and deserves to be recognized for bringing Sentai to the states, but imagine if some of these adults had grown up with RPM or Time Force or SPD. Obviously a lot of us did, but the general public only really cares about the original dino rangers, and that kinda makes me sad. Heck, they skipped over making a dairanger adaptation just because they were afraid of changing the suits because they were so iconic.
What do you guys think? Do you wish other seasons got more of the limelight with the masses?
