I can't believe after all the talk about lifting disabled people out of poverty and making a once-in-a-generational change to disability payments in Canada that the maximum someone can receive is 200 dollars a month. And most disabled people won't even qualify for the payment. Oh, and it will probably be clawed back by the provincial governments or insurance providers.
I guess all of us disabled people should accept our eventual fate of becoming homeless. Local and regional governments have legislated away affordable housing by banning trailer parks and other low income options. We have to compete against hundreds of foreign students for what little affordable housing there is. And all the spots in the shelters and subsidized housing are currently take up refugees and recent immigrants.
Seriously, do they want to just take MAID the option and shut up? I've lost all faith in this country over the last few years. It still boggles my mind the government thought the minimum someone needed to survive in Canada during COVID was 2000 a month, but disabled people are expected to live on half of that. This country is just the worst.

Honestly the fact that you managed is really heartening!! I wasn't even going to try bc I didn't think they'd take any kind of mental health issue seriously.
