Started a new job but can’t pay rent ! Need advice

Post Body

Hello, I’m in a bit of a sticky situation.

I started a new job earlier this week paying really decent money and I don’t get my first real paycheck for two weeks on Sep 17. I live in an apartment with two other people and we all split rent. We’ve only been late one time before on rent and that was due to pay scheduling. So this is our second time being late. I was supposed to have my half of the money but unemployment stopped my last payment that I was depending on due to a glitch and it’s taken them some time to actually fix it (which I’m not betting on them doing).

Our apartments has a grace period so rent is due on the first but we had until the third to pay until it’s late. It’s the fifth as we know. I am considering a personal loan but idk how fast that actually will come and anything about that.

Anyways, our apartments put an eviction notice on our door telling us we owe the late rent and we have to be out in 30 days. This now puts us in another tight situation since then we’d have to pay the money and also try and find somewhere to stay and scrape up money to move (our lease is ending soon).

We’ve applied for our states rental relief but I also don’t know the time it takes for that.

I’m asking if y’all know any advice for how or who we could contact for more resources or monetary help. We are in HTX if that helps?
