My partner lost their job and is receiving unemployment in FL. It says the max they can receive is $3300. We've exhausted about half of that so far.
No luck on finding a job so fair. They're a graphic designer but the struggle seems to be on finding something that's WFH. I'm on disability for previous cancer (couple of years cancer free) and they're immunocompromised so working form home is a must. (We're getting vaccinated next month, but until then that's all they're looking for.)
We just got our stimulus checks and we owe about $1200 on our old car that was totalled last year. It's one of the only non-medical debts we have.
Would it be wise to use one of the checks to pay it off? Or should we just save the checks in case my partner can't find work so we can pay rent down the line? Thanks for your thoughts!
