How would you go about this...
Post Body

Looking for some advice.

Here's my income situation. We've got about $1000 in checking where I put my check in each month which is somewhere between $2500-$3500/month. Wife has a savings account with about $1800 in it that her paychecks gets deposited into which amounts to about $1600/month. Both car payments come out of that, which is $712 which leave about $888/month. We use this if I have a low pay month to supplement the checking to pay bills etc. I have a separate savings account sitting with about $4000 in it that I built up with bonuses etc.

Here's my expense situation. Everything comes out of checking. We pay $200/month for rent as we live on the family farm in a farm house. This includes utilities. I know, cheap. Internet/Cell Phone/ Home Phone/ TV runs about $320/month. Groceries and supplies for a family of 4 run about $300/month. Wife has a school loan we pay $255/month it's at 4.95% on a 5 year payoff, still owe about $13600. We have a credit card balance of about $4000 at 9.25%. Wife has a lingering dentist bill at $3400 that we pay at least $122/month on. Interest keep racking up on it at about $50/month. Not sure the rate on that one. I also have to fork over $200/month to my daughters Orthodontist.

Now the dilemma. I have recently been to the dentist, a different one than my wife as I broke a tooth. I haven't been billed yet, or are they done with my work yet as I get the permanent crown tomorrow. I also have an exam next week and may need something else urgent done. I do have dental insurance that will pay for the exam and work done up to $1500 they will pay 50%, so if I get $3000 worth of work done they will pay $1500.

Here's my questions. I'm sitting on this $4000 in my savings not collecting much interest. I can't make up my mind how I should use it. Do I pay my daughters Orthodontist off, I think I owe about $800 but it's interest free pay as she goes deal. Should I pay off my wife's dentist that racks up who knows what interest rate? Do I pay off my credit card and transfer her balance to it at I'm sure a lower rate even though it would still be at 9.25%. Would possibly have to add my dentist bill to the credit card though if I payed something else off. Or do I hang on to the $4000 and use that towards my dentist bill not knowing how much it's going to be? It may be a couple months before it all goes through insurance and I even get a bill on it. Also, I'm a little lean on my pay this time of year, it will be closer to the $2500 this month and next before it goes back up again.

Any feedback on my situation would be appreciated. Even if it has nothing to do with my dilemma.
