Living in LA, splitting rent with 2 roommates. Rent is $1000. I was laid off in June and have been scraping by on unemployment while looking for jobs. Unemployment just ran out.
Still actively applying for anything and everything, from $16/hr and upwards. I have a college degree and relevant work experience, and I’m not finding anything yet. I applied to 50 jobs last week, all with tailored cover letters.
I already receive lower cost utilities, MediCal, and Food Stamps. I only spend money on absolute essentials. My partner and I share a car, and he uses it all day for delivery driving.
Here’s where I’ve been looking for work/ways to make money: • any and all jobs, from food service, home care, personal assistance, and my degree focus •focus groups •plasma donation •mock trials •PA jobs, background acting •Egg donation, surrogacy (don’t qualify) •Gigs posted on craigslist
Even with all this in mind, I’m getting a few hundred a month. I desperately need some form of income, and I’m willing to do near anything. Does anyone have suggestions for places I may be missing to look for work?
