Opinions on how to handle outstanding credit card debit

Greetings, denizens of reddit.

Like many people subscribed to this sub, I struggle financially. This is even more true these days as I'm dealing with a divorce scenario.

I have a mental health condition which has impacted my ability to generate income over the years. As time has gone by, I've used credit cards to live. We're talking at least $10,000 in debit across multiple cards.

I have not been able to pay on these cards for a full calendar year. I'm looking for income, now, which would help me handle these bills instead of avoiding them. I never wanted to avoid them, but I just straight up have not been able to pay.

My question is this: at this point, do you guys think I should call the companies and express my inability to pay or wait until I am in a position to potentially negotiate new payment options? At present, I still could not pay anything and don't want to be harassed.
