Not sure if this is the right community to ask, but I trust this sub's opinions. Any help is appreciated.

  • TLDR: I've been looking for albums that make me feel the emotion in the music itself (i.e. not just in the lyrics) very strongly. Ones that feel like a unique, unforgettable experience to listen to front to back. Genre doesn't matter.

For example, Lift yr. Skinny Fists by Godspeed You, Haken's music, IGOR by Tyler the Creator, Pelagial by The Ocean, You Wont get What You Want by Daughters, OK Computer & Kid A, Kings of Time by Magyar Posse.

Heavy music is fine (at times preferred) as long as it's able to be emotive too.

Here's a list of my favourite albums in case that helps, loosely organized by genre.

PS: A list of genres i listen to most, to make things easier. The only entire genre im unlikely to enjoy is country, post-punk, and pop (that isn't hyperpop or art pop). favourite subgenres in ()

  • classical & orchestral (romantic)
  • hip-hop (alternative, instrumental)
  • metal (prog, prog sludge, melodeath, melodic, mathcore)
  • jazz (acid, fusion)
  • rock (prog, post, math)
  • electronic (hyperpop, breakcore, edm: trap & dubstep)
