Research Club Events Coordinator Volunteer/Experiential Approximately 80 Hours/Start: Now

Research Club (http://research-club.org) creates inclusive environments where the insatiably curious participate in each other’s ideas, and provides the tools and encouragement necessary for them to take action on their passions. We will introduce you to others who are in the process of being great too.

Our main event where our community meets is a free, monthly brunch with scheduled speakers -- like a free, local version of TED. Highlights from the year are invited to present at a three day summer camp in Silver Falls Park at the end of the summer. Our season ends with OROR (http://ororfest.com), an unconference for local projects that runs beside the successful XOXO festival in September.

We are currently in need of a student volunteer to assist the Events Manager. Duties include assisting with setup and takedown of our monthly brunch (usually the last Sunday of every month) program development for activities and events at Summer Camp and OROR promoting these events on social media

Applicant should be enamoured by:

• event coordinating

• details/logistics

• effective communication

• social media

• problem solving

• newsletters

• working with speakers and volunteers

• networking with creative types

• creating and cataloging best practices

Requirements:

• 8 month commitment

• 5-10 hours a month
