Post Body

I'm taking a BA class to finish my junior cluster and am (just barely) questioning my process for the assignment.

Bothering me: group has abandoned the niche market it started with in favor of casting a broader net because "more people would benefit". They are doing this a lot with various aspects of the project.

It irks me less now that I'm asking about it, but is this what I can expect from marketing in the real world? In my one Advertising class, we were taught that you should always narrow down the demographics (age/race/gender/location/marital status/interests/lifestyle) so that pain points/triggers and channels are more targeted and effective. Maybe I misunderstood- hopefully someone has some insight!

We're selling a hypothetical food product.
