Where are they? Like what publications do I need to watch or look up in order to find these and where they are playing at? I mean people keep telling me that Portland is a big metal/punk outlet, but something tells me that was in the past and not within the last 10 years or so. TBF, I don't have any metalhead people in my life, so I can't go ask someone I know either.
I'm especially fond of doom, groove, prog, black, tech death, sludge. Almost any punk will do too, but I'm less into hardcore/oi and more post-punk/indie punk/misc. punk. Sadly, I don't know of too many local bands, so whenever I see a show pop up with unreadable band logos that are obviously metal, I don't go because I don't know what to expect and I don't really do social media either, so I'm lost in that territory too.
Some local bands to follow:
Doombia (doom metal with a Latin beat)
Bug Seance (emo/shoegaze/post-punk)
Silver Talon (Iron Maiden-y)
