Insurance claim

My 2006 C4 cabriolet took on water from hurricane Helene. Has just under 20k miles and manual transmission. Water reached the seats but I don’t know yet if it got into the engine. If it did then I expect the car will be totaled. My independent insurance agent says the company pays market value but it seems to me that is a wide range. Any suggestions on how to get the best value from the insurance claim.
