Has the age of the superstar gone?

This decade, there hasn’t been a new big pop music superstar like Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Beyonce of the last decade for example. Every decade before this one there have been artists who have become stars, who have achieved worldwide fame and acclaim. This decade, maybe Cardi B in the rap world you could say might have achieved this status. But in the pop world? I can’t think of anyone. What has happened to the music industry? Is the internet age somehow to blame for this because of the access we have to so many different artists now that it is harder for a few to stand out and become big?
