I'm not talking about just the music itself, but the concept or story that underpins the whole album. You know, the ones where the themes, visuals, and even track order feel like they’re taking you on a journey, telling a story, or capturing a certain vibe that hits different every time you listen.
Whether it's a narrative-driven album with a clear plot, a character study, or even just a thematic exploration that resonates on a deep level—what's an album concept that you find yourself thinking about long after listening?
My vote goes for "Music" by Madonna. Released in the year 2000. Cowgirl aesthetic. Refreshing visuals and sound. Country music and electronic music and visuals coming together into a fun yet unique sound. Followed by "Circus" by Britney Spears. Released in 2008. Circus (duh) aesthetic. An album that is sonically both upbeat, yet with a haunting touch in some of the songs. The haunting side of the album really shows with the photoshoot visuals. Both, dark and light at the same time.
folklore/evermore. I’m still in the trees and don’t wanna leave.
