I feel like I’ve hit rock bottom.
I have a job, but I was fired from the hotel I had worked at for years, and in the scramble to keep working had to accept a lower pay than what I was used to making. It’s been 3 months since this new job and I’m starting to feel hopeless.
I have been frantically looking for either a second job or a replacement one that pays better, but it’s very difficult considering my car is not drivable at the moment and I can’t afford the repairs it needs. I already work 10 hour shifts Monday-Friday so it’s also difficult to work around that schedule.
I’ve had one meal in the last few days and it makes walking to work even more challenging since I don’t have the energy I truly need. Also doesn’t help that it’s been really cold lately. My dogs have food but that will only last another 2 days probably.
My rent is pretty much the only thing I’m caught up on but I’m falling behind on everything else. It’s all getting to be so much and I’m starting to feel very depressed.
I suppose I’m just venting.. thanks for reading..
EDIT: I am truly amazed at the wave of love and support I received… it was definitely way more than I expected and I am very thankful for all of you. Seriously, I don’t think you all understand how much your words, suggestions and thoughts have meant to me.. I feel very fortunate to at least have this resource for reassurance. Thank you thank you 🤍
UPDATE: As many have recommended, I applied for food stamps this morning, even though I’m not sure that I will qualify or not. Also, although I really didn’t want to do this, I checked the one and only CC that I have which is pretty much maxed out (or so I thought) and still had roughly $35 available balance left on it lol.. not the best financial decision ever, but it is what it is — on my lunch break today I bought a bag of dog food that should hopefully last until next payday. Will also get a few basic ingredients after work.
