So this week I began training at a fine dining restaurant and last night I was shadowing a senior server. It was a slow night and she only had 3 tables all night, but made $175 in like 2 and a half hours! This gives me hope that I will finally be able to help get our family out of the poor house.
And then this morning, the rumors at work seemed to be confirmed, that layoffs are coming, possibly before the end of the year. This company was doing so well when I came on a year ago, but fuck Corporate America! These investors got greedy and cut back the marketing budget back in Q2 and began hiring more sales reps every month, despite the lack of qualified leads to work.
I'm seriously considering DoorDashing during the morning/day and then serving in the evening. Last week I took the day off from this shithole and DoorDashed for like 8 hours, maybe more like 6.5-7 and made about $125. I know that is probably not typical, but I have to start planning just incase.
Still, I'm not going to let this bring me down. I've been gut-punched too many times over the last 3 years. I hope everyone has a great day and keep fighting the good fight. Much love and respect to all.
